I Saw Stars - ukulele chords

Today we tackle another classic number written by Maurice Sigler, Al Goodhart, and Al Hoffman with lyrics by Freddy Martin. I Saw Stars was written sometime in the 1920's or 1930's...I still haven't seen anything with a definitive date on this one. Whatever the year, this song transfers very nicely to the ukulele. As always, if you're not sure of the chord names, check out the Ukulele Chord Finder. There's a couple chords and variations that I'm playing that you'll have trouble finding on the Chord Finder, so real quick we'll go over those. I'm particularly interested in the Gb-5 as I've never encountered that chord until this song. Basically, it's just a Gb with a diminished 5th.

......Bb+7sus4 ..............Eb....................Gb-5..............G7 (3rd fret)

G.........-3-.......................-0-......................-3-..............................-4-

Here's a little video of me playing it just for reference...

Oh, it's all so hazy. It might sound crazy. There wasn't a star in the sky but....

...now just repeat from there and you've got it! Remember to have fun and don't feel like you have to follow me note for note. Get creative! Make variations and play what sounds best/feels most comfortable to you.
